Welcome to the “Are We Ready for Next Chapter?” –
International Conference of Dementia Innovation Readiness

Inaugurated in June 2000, being funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and managed by the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), the Jockey Club Centre for Positive Ageing (JCCPA) was the first NGO in Hong Kong offering one-stop specialised care for people with dementia. In addition to providing holistic care services and research, we also offer professional training for caregivers and industry counterparts to advance the quality of care. JCCPA and CUHK will be organising the International Conference of Dementia Innovation Readiness on 23, 24 & 25 June 2025 in Hong Kong, which is the momentous occasion of the 25th Anniversary of JCCPA’s establishment.

We structure the conference across five domains: Strategy and Commitment, Early Detection and Diagnosis, Access to Care, Community Support, and Environment and Business, inspired by the Dementia Innovation Readiness Index developed by Alzheimer’s Disease International and the Global Coalition on Aging. In this conference, we aim to foster meaningful discourse on the collaboration between academics, clinicians, and executives in driving innovation in dementia care, and are privileged to have distinguished speakers sharing their insights on the readiness of various key aspects including the Person-centred Care Approach, Dementia Innovation, Dementia Care Architecture, Dementia Care Policy and New Development, Advance Care Planning, and Independency and Reablement in Dementia. Our Jockey Club “Brain Health” Dementia Screening and Community Support Project exemplifies these principles, bringing dementia readiness to the next chapter with its innovative protocol and dedicated approach.

We invite you to partake in scholarly discourse, exchange of knowledge, and collaborative efforts to innovate solutions that will shape the trajectory of dementia care. Your presence symbolizes a dedication to effecting positive change in the lives of those impacted by dementia, and we are confident that our collective endeavors will yield significant outcomes.

Together, we stand prepared to forge a brighter path for dementia care and make a meaningful impact on the individuals we aim to serve.
